New Single “From The Cradle To The Grave” Out

Apr 13, 2021

After a few quiet years, whilst busy with other projects, we (the Nergard band) resurfaced last summer with the tribute single “Under Fire” in memory of the late Tony Mills (Shy, TNT). This in turn inspired me to start working on new music. I had been working on the new album for quite a while and I had plenty of ideas, but the recording and release of the single was the catalyst I needed to get things moving.

The new album also marks a new era for this band. We now have a steady lineup of permanent singers. While in the past I have had plenty of guests, from childhood heroes to up-and-coming stars, I now want to focus on writing music that will be sung be a wonderful trio of singers; Stefani Keogh (UK), Andi Kravljaca (Sweden), and Mathias Molund Indergård (Norway).

The first taste of what’s to come is the first single off the new album, entitled “From The Cradle To The Grave”. This song is probably one of the best songs I’ve written so far. It’s epic, theatrical and dark. It features huge orchestras and choirs, heavy guitars, a wall of drums and stellar performances by Stefani and Mathias. Here’s the cover art and the brand new video. I hope you’ll like it.

The new album is entitled Eternal White and is a concept album based on the tragic story of the Carolean Death March in 1718, when 3000 Swedish and Finnish soldiers froze to death during the retreat from the failed invasion of Norway. You can read a more in-depth explanation of the concept here. The album has 10 songs, which I personally feel is the best material I have ever written and I am very excited for you to finally hear it!

While I wanted a more stable lineup I also just had to get a guest come on and contribute on one song. The legendary Tim “Ripper” Owens, known from his time with Judas Priest and a myriad of other great bands, laid down some amazing vocals on the track “Now Barely Three”. I can’t wait for you guys to hear it.

We will release one more single before Eternal White hits the streets. I hope you guys are ready for it. The album will be released on May 21, and we signed a worldwide deal with the German record label Pride & Joy Music for this release. I am very excited about what Nergard and Pride & Joy Music will accomplish together.

Eternal White will be available on CD as well as streaming services worldwide. The digital version will include instrumental versions of all the songs, so you can sing your heart out and get a feeling of being the vocalist for Nergard. All the lyrics will be available for you on this website.

The CD can be preordered right here on this website. And while you are at it, why not get the Eternal White t-shirt as well!
